Dr. Melissa Bailey

I’m a board certified orthodontist practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area.  I’m experienced in clear aligner therapy (Invisalign®, Clear Correct®), fixed orthodontics (braces), functional appliance (Herbst) and Phase I treatment (rapid palatal expansion, headgear, etc).

I find joy in providing excellent orthodontic care while keeping the experience enjoyable and comfortable for my patients.  My passion for orthodontics began when I received treatment in dental school, which showed me the transformative power of a confident and healthy smile.
 

I received my undergraduate degree in piano performance and business administration from UCLA, where I also earned my dentistry degree with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. At UCLA, I demonstrated leadership and a commitment to community service by writing grants and helping to run a children's clinic for underserved communities. For these efforts, I received the California Dental Association's Outstanding Senior Award. After completing dental school, I received advanced training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Loma Linda University in Southern California.

I enjoy learning and staying current with the latest orthodontic techniques and innovations and take numerous continuing education courses. I'm particularly interested in clear aligner therapy and co-founded TrayMinder®, an app I developed to help my patients to stay on track with their clear aligner treatment.  I am board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), which requires a rigorous written and clinical examination process evaluated by experts in the industry.  ABO certification is recognized throughout the world as representing the highest level of excellence in orthodontic patient care.
